Family Not A Group

Family Not A Group is a dynamic, diverse, and boisterous San Francisco-based artist collective that encompasses the spirit of community, love, and creative expression. FNG acts as a performance ensemble when booked. Incorporating FNG solo and collaborative releases on stage. FNG is also home to a media team, DJ’s and a Comedian. During a live set all members are utilized to maximize an audience's experience.

The collective consists of 17 talented members who are passionate about promoting shows, music, community activism, and unconditional love. With a strong presence in renowned venues and a growing following, we are dedicated to making a positive impact through our art and story telling.

The mission is to utilize art and music as catalysts to make audiences come alive. FNG believes that by nurturing an inclusive, and a slightly wild community, we can break down barriers and build bridges of understanding. Through their shows, music, and community activism, FNG aims to inspire love, unity, and radical transformation.

FNG is currently finalizing a full length album that will release in the summer of 2025. The project is a collaborative effort that brings together the rappers, singers, & producers of FNG

Casey Cope
Casey Cope is a Bay Area rapper, producer, and engineer whose music seamlessly blends jazz-infused hip-hop with the raw, unfiltered energy of indie and ‘90s rock. With a sound shaped by atmospheric guitar-driven anthems and forward-thinking rap, Cope’s approach is deeply personal and sonically expansive. His production philosophy is rooted in authenticity — he only samples people he knows, often weaving the voices and instruments of his collaborators into songs. This gives his music a sense of intimacy and immediacy, where every sound is a reflection of real-life relationships and shared creative moments. His beats are rich with live instrumentation, layered over hard-hitting drums and distorted guitar riffs, while weaving in the shimmering synths and moody, experimental pop textures of introspective modern artists. Lyrically, he navigates personal struggles, self-discovery, and resilience, crafting songs that feel cinematic in their depth and honesty.

Casey Cope is not only an artist, but a curator of sound, a builder of spaces, and a relentless innovator. Whether in the studio, on stage, or leading a collective of artists at his studio, The Q, he continues to push boundaries, constantly in search of what independent music can be.
