Christopher Willits
Christopher Willits
Christopher Willits is an artist – an electronic music and guitar pioneer, composer, producer, photographer, filmmaker and system designer. Christopher uses his self-designed software tools to “paint with his guitar” (Pitchfork), creating “mesmerizing, intricate electronic soundscapes” (Nowness) and lush audiovisual performances of weaving patterns, texture, and harmony. Willits creates immersive experiences of overlapping sound and light. Working solo and in collaboration with the likes of Ryuichi Sakamoto, Matmos, Zach Hill (Death Grips/Hella), Tycho, and Taylor Deupree, Christopher has released over 20 albums within the last decade. Willits is based in San Francisco and has a master’s degree in electronic music from Mills College, working with Pauline Oliveros and Fred Frith. Prior to Mills, Willits focused on painting, photography, video/installation art, and sound art at the Kansas City Art Institute. Willits is also the Founder / Director of the community catalyst

I design experiences of sound and light, with the intention of creating a space for opening and reflection. Art is a process of sublime communication and expression through which the validation or transformation of one’s own connection to everything, can occur. My work expresses and explores my experience- the gratitude, wonder and reverence of it all.
Eskmo (Ambient Set)
Brendan Angelides is a Los Angeles-based music producer / composer who records and performs live as Eskmo. His multi-genre compositions have been featured on influential labels like Ninja Tune, Warp Records and Planet Mu.

His 2010 self-titled full-length, released on Ninja Tune, was described by Future Sequence as “Create(ing) his own sound.” and BBC Music noted the album as “Electrifyingly enveloping…Mind-melting invention.” Ninja Tune recording artist and film composer Amon Tobin has hailed his work as “some of the best production I’ve heard in recent times.” . Shortly thereafter, the pair teamed up to release a collaborative project under the name Eskamon on Eskmo’s own record label, Ancestor, in early 2010.

Angelides has since toured globally performing sets at festivals, theaters and clubs with live found sound percussion, looping, vocals and synchronized visuals. In mid 2013 he joined forces with a handful of film composers in Los Angeles to create a collective called “The Echo Society.” They have since put on two sold out 350 person events featuring a 12 piece chamber orchestra performing music written exclusively for the collective.

A new full length record has been hinted for end of year 2014 / beginning of 2015.

“Electrifyingly enveloping…mind-melting invention here…” – BBC Music

“..A unique vision and fascinating example of the intersection of organic and electronic.” – Fact Mag

“Elegantly melodic, beautiful electronics and enough skewed rhythmatics to make this release a brilliant opening full-length release.” – Bleep
