Born Lucas MacFadden in Los Angeles,CA, Cut Chemist has helped redefine the role of the DJ in modern music through his work with Jurassic 5 and Ozomatli; pushing turntablism and crate-digging culture into more experimental territory. His solo works; Audience is Listening, Sound of the Police, & Die Cut, bridge underground hip-hop, global music exploration, and avant-garde composition. Few artists occupy all three spaces simultaneously and Cut Chemist continues to push boundaries in all of them, testing our musical palates while introducing us to obscure musical finds.
