Emily Armstrong, a.k.a. Vyhara, is a Bay Area bass producer and DJ blending cinematic soundscapes with hard-hitting basslines in her signature spin on Ethereal Bass. She first gained attention with inventive flips of classics like Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit” and Lana Del Rey’s “Doin’ Time,” earning support from top bass artists. Her high-energy originals have appeared on Circus Records, SubCarbon Records, Trippy Bee Records and more.

She began honing in her sound while frequenting the Santa Cruz live scene while studying at UCSC and inspired by artists such as CloZee, LSDREAM, and Ganja White Night. Her production features a blend of global instruments, lush melodies, euphoric builds, and tribal basslines. With Indian family roots, her name is inspired by the Indian word Vihara, meaning “shelter,” reflecting the transformative and immersive energy of her music.

With releases on labels such as Wormhole Music Group, Odyzey Music, Morflo Records, Gravitas Recordings and Bass Rush, Vyhara has earned recognition for her forward-thinking sound. On stage, she has supported artists including Levity, GRiZ, CloZee, and Mersiv and has performed at festivals including The Untz Festival, Infrasound, Seven Stars, Big Dub, Northern Nights and Fire Lights. With upcoming performances at Red Rocks, Seven Stars and Cyclops Cove, Vyhara is poised for a huge end to 2026 and continues to rise as one of bass music’s most exciting artists.
