Zimmer will present his debut album in an immersive live show, surrounded by machines and a new light installation. Zimmer is part of a new wave of French electronic musicians alongside Roche Musique label mate Darius, Rone, Superpoze, Paradis and more. Zimmer’s dreamy sounds blends techno and disco, and is equally influenced by acts such as Moderat, Four Tet, Bonobo and Bicep. After 3 EPs, many remixes and edits and a monthly mixtapes series, Zimmer is set to release his debut album in September on Roche Musique.
California-based producer Vasu Patel chose the artist name Banksia (named after a train station in Sydney, Australia) in order to represent his artist identity.
Banksia’s background encompasses four different continents (Africa, Australia, Europe, North America). Before choosing to take the producer route, he locked down residencies with a number of venues.
After completing a producer course in Australia at Liveschool in Sydney, Vasu was equipped with the techniques and tools taught by award-winning artists, allowing him to deliver his own blend of dark, mystic, analog and digital sounds to the world.
Deep in his creative process of music production, Banksia has a lot of new music in the pipeline. 2019 looks to be a prosperous debut year.
