"Hold Onto Your Girlfriends, the Coo Coo Birds Have Arrived. The Coo Coo Birds embody timeless rock ‘n’ roll attitude, with their era-spanning sound drawing from garage, psychedelic, and 50′s rock, all created in the old convent in San Francisco where the band resides. Band Name: Coo Coo Birds Hometown: San Francisco Born Date: Jan 2012 Sounds Like: Boiler Pot Rock n’ Roll at its best. The 1950′s got a new skate board, then fell off when 1967 tripped him. Then 1977 came along and beat them both up for it, and all three were arrested by Officer 2012. Fun Fact: The band lives in an ex-Convent turned artist community, and derives much of their inspiration from this unique SF scene. " — Katie Kopacz, Sf Station
Hibbity Dibbity started in the Winter of 2012 with Tom Relling and Chris Braun singin' and writin' songs on acoustic guitars in Chris' apartment in the Richmond neighborhood of San Francisco. After earning their stripes in the city's open mic scene as an acoustic duo, Hibbity Dibbity expanded to a full-band sound with the help of Jack Gehegan on drums, Parker Simon on Fender bass, and Christian Hasselberger on keyboards. Drawing inspiration from the music of The Allman Brothers Band, Little Feat, the Meters and Creedence Clearwater Revival, Hibbity Dibbity concocted a unique sound- "Swamp Funk"- which blends guitar virtuosity of blues-rock, the grooves of New Orleans funk, and the harmonies and songwriting of classic American folk music. Hibbity Dibbity recorded their self-titled debut album in July 2013, and the record was released the following January. In the Summer of 2014, Hibbity Dibbity embarked on a two month cross-country tour to support their album. On the road, they cut their follow-up album, "Tinctures, Potions & Elixirs", which is scheduled to be released in Spring 2015.
